New Delhi, Oct 7: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a new slogan, “We Will Do It,” aimed at achieving the ambitious goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized the need for visionary policies, collaborative efforts, and diligent work to reach this target.
Speaking at the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha,” which marked 25 years since he first took office, Modi expressed confidence that the vision of a developed India is attainable.
“India has no reason to halt its progress. A century ago, our population was under 400 million; now, we exceed 1.4 billion. Together, these 1.4 billion citizens will construct a developed India by 2047, and we will succeed. We Will Do It,” he declared.
Recalling his earlier call for “Sabka Prayas” from the Red Fort, Modi encouraged the audience to commit to several goals, including achieving a developed India by 2047, becoming one of the top three global economies, fostering an Atmanirbhar Bharat, establishing a global manufacturing hub, hosting the Olympics, and advancing in space exploration.
“We will do it! We will do it! Viksit Bharat by 2047 - we will do it! Top three economy - we will do it! Atmanirbhar Bharat - we will do it! Global manufacturing hub - we will do it! Hosting the Olympics - we will do it! Taking a step into space - we will do it!” he reiterated.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration, Modi noted that developments once deemed impossible have now become reality.
“This is why I have faith in the strength and potential of 1.4 billion Indians. After 25 years in governance, I can confidently say we are witnessing India's transformation unfold before our eyes,” he remarked.
Reflecting on his 25 years in public service, Modi shared that challenges have tested his patience, while successes have reinforced his commitment to the nation.
“Each crisis has tested my patience, every success has heightened my sense of duty, and every achievement has fueled my courage to pursue greater goals... Today, I can affirm that no moment in my life has been wasted. Each experience has imparted valuable lessons,” he stated, as supporters chanted “Modi-Modi.”
Modi recalled significant events from his political journey, stating that the Morbi floods underscored the necessity for continuous relief efforts, while the Bhuj earthquake taught him resilience during reconstruction. He mentioned that the Chandrayaan mission illustrated the importance of perseverance after setbacks, and the Covid-19 pandemic emphasized the need for a united national spirit.
Since October 7, 2001, Modi has held the position of head of government, initially serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three terms and later as Prime Minister after winning three Lok Sabha elections.
Reflecting on the day he took his oath as Gujarat's Chief Minister in 2001, Modi expressed that he never anticipated reaching the milestone of 25 years in governance.
“I bow to the people of India for their trust in me. For me, the people are divine; the dedicated BJP workers are my strength,” he concluded.
Modi also expressed gratitude to his colleagues in the BJP and NDA, as well as to those who uphold democratic values. He acknowledged that while supporters have motivated him, critics have encouraged introspection and learning from their feedback.
