Modi Government Takes Action for Families Affected by Terrorism in Kashmir

Support for Terrorism-Affected Families in Kashmir

For decades, families impacted by terrorism in Kashmir have been marginalized, but the situation is changing. The Modi administration and the Lieutenant Governor's office are now actively addressing the needs of these families. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that since 2025, appointment letters have been issued to members of 438 families affected by terrorism. He emphasized that this initiative is not just a statistic but a concerted effort to restore the 'shattered world' of those who have lost loved ones to violence.

Speaking at an event, Sinha highlighted that each case represents homes where 'silence replaced laughter' and families that have struggled for years, facing not only personal loss but also social neglect.

The Lieutenant Governor presented appointment letters to 37 relatives of terrorism victims and 29 families of government employees who lost their lives in service. He paid tribute to the victims and vowed to take stringent action against the mechanisms of terrorism and their supporters. Sinha reassured the families of victims that the government is fully committed to ensuring their dignified and respectful living conditions. He stated, 'We will fulfill our duties with utmost seriousness and will not rest until every family receives justice.'

He further clarified that justice for the families of terrorism victims extends beyond punishment; it also involves healing wounds and restoring dignity.

Sinha criticized the long-standing neglect of terrorism-affected families, while elements connected to terrorist networks allegedly received protection and benefits. He remarked that such conditions symbolize a decline in social morality and weaken the foundations of law, trust, and a just society. Meanwhile, recipients of the appointment letters expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor.
