Modi Declares Beginning of Change in West Bengal After Record Voting
Prime Minister Modi's Remarks on West Bengal Elections
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi characterized the unprecedented voter turnout in the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections as the dawn of the end for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) regime. He confidently asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the government in the state following the election results on May 4. Modi expressed gratitude towards female voters, labeling the TMC as a party that opposes women's rights. Addressing a rally in Dum Dum, he noted that the morale of TMC's goons has diminished, as they are aware of their impending defeat in the elections.
He accused the TMC of hindering women's progress and emphasized that ensuring women's safety is a priority for the BJP. Modi highlighted that the saffron party has nominated Ratna Debnath, the mother of a victim from the RG Kar rape-murder case, as a candidate.
The support witnessed for the BJP yesterday has sounded the victory bell for the party. In West Bengal, where the TMC has previously suppressed democracy with its authoritarian approach, the public has begun to restore the sanctity of democracy in the first phase of voting.
BJP's Commitment to Women's Welfare
PM Modi reiterated the BJP's commitment to fulfilling the dreams of every sister and daughter in Bengal, aiming to ease their lives. He assured the women of Bengal that the BJP would provide them with safety, respect, and prosperity. Under the BJP government, he promised that every woman would experience happiness, with free rations for underprivileged sisters. He assured that no syndicate would be able to deprive them of their rights.
Modi also mentioned that the dream of owning a home would be realized, with assistance of up to ₹1.5 lakh under the PM Awas Yojana, and that the houses built would be registered in the names of women. He came to assure every daughter of Bengal that the BJP would not allow their dreams to be crushed. After the BJP government is established on May 4, every case of injustice and oppression will be addressed. This is Modi's guarantee.
