Modi Critiques Congress at Bengaluru Rally, Accuses Party of Betrayal

In a recent rally in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce critique of the Congress party, accusing it of betraying its allies and voters. He highlighted the party's declining popularity and inability to regain power in states, attributing this to false promises and internal conflicts. Modi contrasted Congress's struggles with the BJP's growth, particularly in states like Bengal and Kerala. His remarks underscore the ongoing political dynamics in India, as he emphasizes the BJP's expanding influence while Congress grapples with its diminishing support.

Prime Minister Modi's Strong Remarks Against Congress

During a public gathering in Bengaluru on May 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized the Congress party, accusing it of betraying both its allies and voters. He described Congress as a parasitic political entity that thrives on exploiting regional parties. Speaking at the 45th anniversary celebration of the Art of Living Foundation, Modi addressed BJP workers and supporters, stating that Congress has lost public trust nationwide due to false promises, poor governance, and internal power struggles.

Congress's Declining Popularity

Modi pointed out that no Congress-led state government has been able to regain power after losing it. He noted that an anti-incumbency wave against Congress typically arises within months of their governance. According to him, the party is adept only at deception, with both their promises and their integrity being questionable. He accused Congress of betraying its long-time ally, the DMK, in Tamil Nadu, asserting that the party often turns against its coalition partners when political dynamics shift.

Congress's Reaction to Electoral Defeats

The Prime Minister remarked that Congress and its allies are unable to accept their continuous electoral defeats, blaming democratic institutions, courts, and constitutional processes instead. He expressed that he has never witnessed such disdain for the Constitution, democracy, and judicial processes from any mainstream political party in his public life. Highlighting Congress's dwindling popularity, he recalled that the party once secured over 400 Lok Sabha seats but now struggles to surpass 100, even with alliances.

BJP's Growth Compared to Congress

In contrast, Modi emphasized the BJP's national expansion, stating, "Just ten years ago, before the last elections, we had only three MLAs in Bengal... Today, the BJP boasts over 200 MLAs. In Kerala, we have increased our representation from one to three MLAs. Once we reach three, it won't be long before the BJP-NDA coalition surpasses the majority mark in Kerala as well." He further asserted that the BJP is gradually solidifying its presence in Kerala.

Instability in Congress-led States

Modi continued by stating that Congress governments in various states have been plagued by instability and broken promises. Referring to Karnataka, he claimed that the ruling party is entangled in internal conflicts rather than focusing on governance, leaving uncertainty about how long the current Chief Minister will remain in power and whether anyone else will get a chance.
