A Shocking Turn of Events in Ramtek

In a remarkable incident in Ramtek, Nagpur district, a 103-year-old woman named Gangabai Sawaji Sakhare, who was presumed dead, began to move her fingers just hours before her funeral, leaving her family in disbelief. This unexpected event occurred on a Monday.


According to her relatives, Gangabai had been bedridden for two months and had only been consuming a couple of teaspoons of water daily for the past few days.


The family reported that around 5 PM on January 12, she ceased all bodily responses, leading them to declare her deceased and initiate funeral preparations. A canopy was set up outside their home, chairs were arranged, and materials for the last rites were gathered, including booking an ambulance.


News of her death spread on social media, prompting relatives from afar to arrive. However, around 7 PM, Gangabai astonishingly wiggled her toes.


Her grandson, Rakesh Sakhare, recounted, 'I saw her toes moving and shouted for help. When we removed the cotton from her nose, she began to breathe heavily.' Interestingly, January 13 marks Gangabai's birthday. Rakesh expressed, 'This incident has given her a new lease on life.'
