Kochi, July 28 - A mimicry artist from Kerala has reported experiencing online harassment following the circulation of a video clip from a recent performance abroad. The artist, Mahesh Kunjumon, has been accused by some individuals of disrespecting Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan. This controversy began after Kunjumon imitated the Chief Minister's voice during an event in Ireland, where he referenced Satheesan and requested the LED wall operator to display the leader's image.

Clarification on Intent

Kunjumon took to Facebook to clarify that he mentioned the file name for technical reasons and did not intend to show any disrespect by omitting titles like 'Chief Minister' or 'Sir.' He expressed that only a portion of the video was shared on social media, leading to a misunderstanding that he had intentionally disrespected Satheesan.

Apology and Call for Respectful Discourse

He stated, “If my words or actions have hurt anyone, I sincerely apologize. I never intended to insult or harm anyone. I respect everyone equally.” Kunjumon urged people to express their disagreements in a civil manner, emphasizing that abusive messages can lead to significant mental stress.
