Mufti Visits Iranian Cultural Center
On Monday, Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), visited the Iranian Cultural Center and the Iranian Embassy in Delhi to express her condolences over the passing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei was reportedly killed on February 28 during airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran. Mufti stated that her visit aimed to show solidarity with the Iranian people and to pay tribute to their leader, while also addressing the plight of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran.
In a post on X, Mufti mentioned, 'I visited the Iranian Cultural Center and Embassy in Delhi to convey my heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people during this difficult time and to honor the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. I also raised the issue of Kashmiri students trapped in Iran with the honorable ambassador.' Speaking to reporters, she emphasized her intention to express sympathy for the Iranian populace and demonstrate solidarity with them.
She remarked, 'We are here to express our condolences to the Iranian people for their loss and to pay tribute to the great Iranian Supreme Leader. Additionally, we want to reassure the Iranian people that the Kashmiri community stands with them. We are united with the brave and resilient people of Iran.' Mufti further stated that prayers are being offered for Iran during the ongoing conflict.
Mufti added, 'We pray for their victory in this battle against evil, as Iran stands alone against the Epstein gang. Those named in the Epstein files are currently aligned with Benjamin Netanyahu. I have come here to salute the determination and courage of the Iranian people.' Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also visited the embassy, signing the condolence book in honor of Khamenei.
