Mufti's Strong Response to Doval's Comments

The President of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, has sharply criticized National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, stating that discussing revenge for events from centuries ago is highly unfortunate. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir expressed her views in a post on 'X', emphasizing that it is the NSA's duty to protect the nation, yet he has chosen to engage in a "communal ideology of hatred."

It is important to note that during the inauguration of the Developed India Youth Leaders Dialogue in Delhi, Doval remarked that India must strengthen itself not only at its borders but also economically and in every aspect to take "revenge" for the painful history of attacks and oppression. In her response, Mufti stated, "It is extremely unfortunate that a high-ranking official like Mr. Doval, whose responsibility is to safeguard the country from internal and external malicious intentions, has opted to participate in a communal ideology of hatred and normalize violence against Muslims." She further added, "Calling for revenge for centuries-old events in the 21st century serves as a dog whistle, inciting poor and uneducated youth to target a minority community that is already facing attacks from all sides."

Regarding Doval's statements, he emphasized that India must not only fortify its security at borders but also enhance its economic and technological strength to take revenge for its history of attacks and subjugation. In his address, Doval referenced the struggles for freedom, the assaults on Indian civilization, and the significance of strong leadership, stating, "I was born in a subjugated India. You are fortunate to be born in a free India. Our ancestors made immense sacrifices and endured humiliation for this. Bhagat Singh was executed, Subhas Chandra Bose struggled throughout his life, Mahatma Gandhi had to undertake satyagraha, and countless others lost their lives."

The 81-year-old head of India's Intelligence Bureau, Doval, remarked, "Our villages were burned, our civilization was destroyed, our temples were looted, and we watched helplessly as mute spectators. This history challenges us to ignite a fire within every young Indian." He added that while the term revenge may not sound appealing, it holds significant power. "We must take revenge for our history and restore this country to a place where we can build a great India based on our rights, ideas, and beliefs. We need to strengthen ourselves in every aspect—economically, defensively, and technologically."
