In Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, there exists a goshala that houses not just one or two, but a remarkable 28 millionaire cows. Each of these cows has a fixed deposit of one lakh rupees. A Goshala Gaining Attention

The Shri Jamvay Jyoti Goshala, located in the village of Bhodki in Gudha Gaurji, has recently become a topic of discussion. The committee managing this goshala is setting an example with its exceptional care for the cows. While many across the country engage in various activities under the banner of cow service, this place has initiated a unique tradition for the protection of cattle.

Innovative Cow Adoption Scheme

In this goshala, devotees can adopt cows by investing in a one lakh rupee fixed deposit in their names. The interest and bank balance from these deposits are utilized for the cows' upkeep. According to former village head Shivram Singh, there are currently 983 cows in this goshala, with 28 cows adopted through the one lakh FD scheme.

Effective Cow Care Initiatives

The goshala boasts excellent arrangements for cow care. Through various schemes, individuals can earn merit by serving the cows, generating an income of approximately two lakh rupees each month for the goshala. Most of this revenue is reinvested into the cows' care. What began as a two bigha land initiative has now expanded to over 60 bighas, employing 18 to 20 individuals for cow maintenance. Due to the increasing number of cows, a veterinary hospital is also under construction. The goshala produces around 100 liters of milk daily, which is also processed into ghee.

Sustainable Practices in the Goshala

Inside the goshala, there is a plant for producing organic fertilizer, utilizing vermicompost, which is more beneficial for crops compared to chemical fertilizers. This unique cow adoption tradition serves as an inspiration for cattle protection and other goshala initiatives, potentially improving the lives of many more cows.
