BSP's Strategic Move Ahead of Elections

In preparation for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has made a significant decision. She has expelled Ashok Siddharth, a former Rajya Sabha MP, from the party due to allegations of disciplinary violations. Notably, Siddharth is the father-in-law of Akash Anand, Mayawati's nephew and the party's national coordinator.

Previous Offenses and Repeated Mistakes

On Sunday, Mayawati announced this decision via a post on the social media platform X. She explained that Siddharth had previously been removed during the Maharashtra elections for misconduct related to ticket distribution. Although he was later reinstated with the condition that he would not repeat such mistakes, he was assigned responsibilities only in other states, keeping him away from Uttar Pradesh.

Failure to Fulfill Responsibilities

Despite this arrangement, Mayawati noted that Siddharth failed to perform his duties effectively. Complaints against him continued to arise from states like Karnataka, Odisha, and West Bengal. After multiple warnings and no improvement in his work style, he was ultimately relieved of all responsibilities.

Mayawati's Firm Stance Against Rumors

Mayawati expressed her concern over the deliberate spread of misinformation regarding Siddharth's potential return to Uttar Pradesh politics. She deemed this a conspiracy aimed at undermining the party's campaign for the upcoming elections. Consequently, she has made it clear that Siddharth will not be allowed back into the party in the future.
