Devastating Blaze at Shoe Manufacturing Facility

A severe fire broke out at a shoe factory located in Aravankara, Malappuram, as reported by officials from the fire and rescue services.


The blaze completely destroyed the factory, leaving it in ruins.


According to authorities, the fire was reported around 11:50 AM, prompting firefighters to rush to the scene immediately.


They noted that the fire was intense, with approximately 80% of the facility, including the raw material storage area and warehouse, consumed by flames.


To combat the fire, more than ten fire engines were dispatched from various stations, including Malappuram, Thirur, Ponnani, Perinthalmanna, Manjeri, and Meenchanda.


Officials indicated that due to the severity of the fire, precautionary measures were taken to prevent it from spreading to nearby homes.


By around 3 PM, firefighters had managed to control about 90% of the blaze. Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire, although the exact cause will be confirmed following a detailed inquiry by the electrical inspection department and police.
