New Delhi, Nov 6: A significant fire erupted early Friday at a mobile accessories shop located in Gaffar Market, Delhi. The flames quickly engulfed all levels of a four-story commercial building, prompting the deployment of approximately 20 to 25 fire engines to manage the situation.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities, although property damage has occurred.

Delhi Police received an emergency call about the fire at 1:28 a.m. concerning a building in Chain Wali Gali, which was directed to the Karol Bagh Police Station.

Upon arrival, the police personnel, including the Station House Officer (SHO), discovered the fire at Shop No. 13/21, Puri Plaza, within Gaffar Market.

This establishment is a four-story commercial property specializing in mobile accessories.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire started in a ground-floor shop where mobile batteries were stored, subsequently spreading throughout the building.

Emergency services dispatched around 20-25 fire tenders, along with three CAT ambulances and two PCR vehicles, to conduct firefighting and rescue operations.

Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported, with damage confined to property.

Preliminary assessments indicate that overheating or overcharging of batteries might have triggered the fire, although the definitive cause remains under investigation.

This incident follows a tragic fire at a shoe factory in Delhi's Mangolpuri Industrial Area, which resulted in four deaths and left two individuals critically injured.

The earlier fire occurred around 9:30 p.m. on October 30, at a factory in Phase-I of the industrial zone. Fire brigade teams, along with Delhi Police and rescue officials, responded swiftly.

After several hours of firefighting efforts, six individuals were rescued from the factory, found unconscious. Tragically, four of them later succumbed to their injuries, while two others were seriously hurt.
