Panic Erupts in Dahod Village Following Wedding Reception

In the village of Abhlod, located in Gujarat's Dahod district, chaos ensued after over 400 guests reportedly fell ill following a wedding celebration. Authorities suspect a significant case of food poisoning. Many affected individuals have been hospitalized, and health officials are actively working to manage the situation and identify the cause of the illness. Initial reports indicate that guests began experiencing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dizziness just hours after consuming the food served at the event.


District health officials have initiated an investigation into this incident.


Food Poisoning Incident in Tehri: Dozens Hospitalized

Earlier, officials confirmed that approximately three dozen individuals fell ill after consuming contaminated food at a wedding in the Badshahithaul area of Tehri district. Most of the affected were women and children from the villages of Dharasal and Jugad. Shortly after attending the local banquet hall event, they began to experience symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.


Health officials reported that patients started arriving at the district hospital at different times. On Wednesday, fifteen individuals were admitted, followed by another twenty the next morning seeking treatment.


Medical Update and Ongoing Investigations

Dr. Amit Rai, the chief medical officer, assured that all patients are in stable condition and that medical staff is closely monitoring them. He noted that several patients have been discharged after receiving initial treatment, while others remain under observation.


In response to the incident, the food safety department has launched an investigation. Officials have collected samples of various food items, including flour, lentils, gram flour, and noodles, for laboratory testing to determine the cause of the illness.

To avoid such incidents during wedding seasons, experts recommend several precautions:


Hygiene: Ensure cleanliness in food preparation areas and utensils.


Fresh Food: Avoid food that has been left out for extended periods or stale items.
