In a significant move, the administration of President Donald Trump has expedited the process of mass deportations, resulting in the dismissal of 17 judges from immigration courts across 10 states. This information was disclosed by an organization representing these judges.

The organization, known as the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, issued a statement indicating that 15 judges were dismissed on Friday, followed by two more on Monday, all without any stated reasons.

The judges who were removed served in immigration courts located in California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

Matt Biggs, the president of the organization, expressed his outrage, stating, “This is highly condemnable and against the public interest. While Congress has approved the appointment of 800 immigration judges, a large number are being removed without justification, which is absurd...” This dismissal comes at a time when the Trump administration's stringent immigration policies have led to a significant increase in the arrests of immigrants, prompting many victims to seek recourse in the courts.
