Weather Conditions in Northern India

As March begins, temperatures in northern India have already risen above normal levels. In Delhi, the mercury is expected to reach 33°C, while the hilly regions may experience rain and snowfall between March 4-6.

Delhi's Weather Forecast

The month of March has ushered in a noticeable change in weather patterns. Mornings still carry a hint of chill, reminiscent of lingering winter, but by afternoon, the sun shines brightly, signaling the end of the cold season. Many states are already experiencing temperatures significantly above average, leading to a growing sense of heat.

In the capital, Delhi, the sky is expected to remain clear and blue throughout the day. Although there was some morning fog, it cleared up with the sun's rise. The minimum temperature is projected to hover around 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, providing a slight chill in the morning. However, the maximum temperature could soar to between 31 and 33 degrees, making the afternoon feel quite warm. According to meteorological reports, similar weather conditions are anticipated for March 2, with ample sunshine and no significant changes in temperature.

Heat Intensifies in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

In Uttar Pradesh, the cold spell seems to have come to an end. Meteorologists predict that temperatures may rise by 2 to 4 degrees in the coming days, pushing daytime highs close to 35 degrees. From March 1 to 4, strong winds of 20-30 kilometers per hour are expected, with no immediate forecast for rain, only increasing heat and dryness. Bihar is experiencing similar conditions, with nights now feeling warm enough for fans to be in use. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) indicates that temperatures may rise by another 2 to 3 degrees over the next three days, intensifying the heat.

Rajasthan's Rising Temperatures

In Rajasthan, winter seems to be fading away completely. Recently, Barmer recorded the highest temperature at 35.2 degrees, while Alwar remained cooler with a minimum of around 10 degrees. The weather is expected to remain dry and clear for the next 4-5 days, with temperatures gradually increasing. However, a new western disturbance may affect the northeastern parts of the state on March 4, potentially bringing slight weather changes or light rain, although most areas will continue to experience heat.

Cold Weather Persists in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh

In the higher altitudes of Uttarakhand, the cold still lingers, although temperatures are running 3-5 degrees above normal. A new western disturbance may become active on March 4, coinciding with Holika Dahan, which could lead to some weather changes, including cloud cover or light rain/snow. However, no significant rainfall alerts are in place. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh is still feeling the chill, with light rain and snowfall expected in higher regions between March 4 and 6, offering some relief.

Temperature Predictions for Other States

Most parts of northwest India are likely to see temperatures 3-5 degrees above normal this week. In Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat, humidity levels are expected to rise significantly between March 4-6, leading to discomfort and difficulty in outdoor activities. Maharashtra is forecasted to experience a temperature increase of 3-4 degrees over the next five days. Additionally, several regions in northeastern and southern India may also see temperatures climbing by 2-4 degrees in the coming days.
