ICC Reveals Women's Player of the Month Nominees for March 2026

On Monday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the Women's Player of the Month for March 2026.


The nominations highlight exceptional performances from Melie Kerr, Beth Mooney, and Ayabonga Khaka, who showcased their skills with impressive all-round displays, significant batting contributions, and match-winning bowling spells.


Melie Kerr (New Zealand)

New Zealand captain Melie Kerr had an outstanding month, excelling in matches against Zimbabwe and South Africa. She participated in four ODIs and six T20Is, where her all-round performance propelled her to the top of the ICC Women's T20I all-rounder rankings.


In the ODIs, Kerr took 18 wickets at an impressive average of 6.77, including a remarkable 7/34 in the second ODI against Zimbabwe, marking the best figures for New Zealand in this format.


During the T20I series, she secured six wickets across six matches, with her best performance being 2/6 against South Africa in the final T20I, contributing to a 4-1 series victory for the White Ferns.


With the bat, she scored 276 runs in the T20I series, maintaining an incredible streak of 11 consecutive scores of 30 or more. In ODIs, she amassed 176 runs, including a top score of 80 in the third ODI against Zimbabwe, where she also achieved a five-wicket haul.


Beth Mooney (Australia)

Beth Mooney had a stellar month, playing a crucial role in Australia's batting lineup across various formats. She kicked off March with an unbeaten 106 runs off 84 balls against India, leading Australia to a 185-run victory and a 3-0 series win.


Mooney continued her form into the T20I series against the West Indies, scoring 107 runs at an average of 35.66 and a strike rate of 128.91 over three matches. Her standout performance came in the first T20I, where she scored 79 runs, earning her the Player of the Match award.


She concluded the month with a solid 65 in another ODI victory against the West Indies.


Ayabonga Khaka (South Africa)

Ayabonga Khaka emerged as a key player for South Africa during their tour of New Zealand, leading her team's wicket-taking efforts in the T20I series. She took eight wickets at an average of 15.37.


Her best performance was 4/27 in the second T20I, which helped secure an 18-run victory for her team.


In her only ODI of the month, Khaka achieved a career-best 6/56 in Christchurch, playing a pivotal role in South Africa's success.
