Manu Bhaker's Performance

Manu Bhaker from India secured her spot in the women's 10m air pistol final during Day 4 of the Asian Games 2026, finishing third in the qualification round. The Indian team, however, narrowly missed out on a medal, placing fourth overall.


The 24-year-old athlete achieved a score of 579-20x across six series, ensuring her place in the final set for 9 AM IST, as reported by ESPN. After starting with a score of 95 in her initial series, she improved her performance with scores of 96, 96, and 98 in her last three series, landing her in the top eight.


Team Performance

Unfortunately, India's women's 10m air pistol team fell short of the podium by just two inner-10 shots, finishing in fourth place. Esha Singh concluded her qualification with 572 points, ranking 16th despite a strong finish that included scores of 97, 97, and 96. Suruchi Singh ended in 26th place with 568 points after scoring 93 in her final series, which impacted the team's chances for a medal. Esha will now focus on the upcoming 25m sports pistol event.

Rowing


In rowing, Balraj Panwar secured third place in his men's single sculls heat and fourth overall, qualifying for the final. Meanwhile, Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finished second in their men's doubles sculls heat, also advancing to the final.


Canoe Sprint


In the canoe sprint, the team of Harshwardhan Shaktawat, Varinder Singh, L Naocha Singh Oinam, and Arun Singh finished third in the men's kayak four 500m heat, qualifying for the final. Megha Pradeep placed fifth in the women's canoe single 200m heats, moving on to the semifinals.


Swimming


In swimming events, Benedicton Beniston finished fourth in his men's 100m butterfly heat, ranking 13th overall, while Sajan Prakash did not start, both missing the final. Vedaant Madhavan and Aneesh Sunil finished sixth and fourth, respectively, in their men's 200m freestyle heats, with their qualification status pending. Additionally, Jaswinder Singh and Nitin Kumar advanced to Final B after finishing fourth in the men's pair heats.

Looking forward, India's men's badminton team, which has already secured a medal, is set to compete against China in the semifinals, aiming for a place in the final. Wushu athlete Roshibina Devi will also strive to reach the final of her event on Wednesday.
