Mandaviya Leads Rhododendron Trek in Shillong

On Saturday, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, took part in a Rhododendron trek in Shillong, Meghalaya, accompanied by enthusiastic volunteers from MY Bharat. The trek showcased the stunning natural beauty of the area. During the event, Mandaviya emphasized the significance of fitness, adventure, and environmental consciousness among the youth, as reported by SAI Media.

He praised the dedication and enthusiasm of the MY Bharat volunteers, urging young people to engage in activities that foster both physical health and environmental stewardship. The trek, which traversed Meghalaya's picturesque landscapes and vibrant rhododendron paths, embodied the essence of youth engagement, fitness, and collective efforts towards nation-building.

Chintan Shivir Focuses on Youth-Led Development

Earlier that day, the Department of Youth Affairs, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, kicked off a two-day Chintan Shivir at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shillong. This event gathered officials from the Department, MY Bharat, and the National Service Scheme (NSS) to discuss enhancing youth involvement, improving program delivery, and promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat through youth-led initiatives.

In his address, Mandaviya stated, "With 2.17 crore youth volunteers, MY Bharat has become a national movement of Jan Bhagidari. Our aim is to extend MY Bharat to every district and block, ensuring that every young citizen experiences true last-mile connectivity."

Key Announcements and Directives

Mandaviya highlighted the essential contributions of District Youth Officers and NSS Officers in bolstering the youth development framework. He stressed the importance of evaluating success based on measurable impacts and outcomes. Additionally, he called for widespread youth involvement in the national anti-drug campaign scheduled from June 26 to August 15, announced initiatives in 150 educational institutions to celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram, and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to establishing MY Bharat Centres in all 783 districts.
