Manipur's Final Electoral Roll 2026 Released with Notable Changes

Imphal, Sept 6: Before the release of Manipur's draft electoral roll, a total of 1,58,677 voters were excluded, and an additional 30,650 names were removed during the revision phase, as reported by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Manipur on Sunday.

During a press briefing at Lamphel, CEO Arun Kumar Sinha shared these statistics following the publication of the Final Electoral Roll 2026.

According to Kumar, the finalized roll for all 60 Assembly constituencies now includes 19,60,620 voters, which consists of 9,53,350 males, 10,06,962 females, and 308 individuals identifying as third-gender.

This final count reflects an increase of 26,221 voters compared to the 19,34,399 recorded in the draft roll released on July 5. The revision process saw the addition of 56,871 names while 30,650 were removed.

The CEO's office indicated that the revision began with a total of 20,93,076 voters as of May 18. Enumeration forms for 1,58,677 voters were not submitted, leading to their exclusion from the draft roll.

Among those excluded, 72,473 were classified as having shifted addresses, 43,000 as deceased, 34,740 as absent, and 7,394 as duplicates, with 1,070 falling into other categories.

The verification process addressed 91,178 unmapped voters, and notices were sent to 11,30,655 voters with discrepancies. After hearings and document verification, 26,362 voters were deemed ineligible, according to the CEO's office.

The revision also processed 96,985 claims and objections prior to the final publication.

Despite the significant exclusions and deletions, the final voter count increased compared to the draft roll, as the number of additions surpassed the deletions.

The final roll indicates an elector-population ratio of 51.99 and a gender ratio of 1,056. Additionally, the separate electoral roll for service voters includes 20,819 electors.
