Extensive Schedule for Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Imphal, Aug 6: The government of Manipur has announced a comprehensive lineup of events for the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 initiative, set to take place statewide from August 9 to 17. This year's festivities will also mark the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song Vande Mataram.

The campaign, spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture, seeks to foster a sense of patriotism and encourage households to display the National Flag with pride.

During a press briefing, Naorem Praveen Singh, Secretary of Art and Culture, highlighted that this year's activities will include various patriotic and cultural events aimed at enhancing national unity and encouraging public involvement.

A significant feature of the campaign is a State-level Vande Mataram-themed Tiranga Concert, which is scheduled for August 12 at the MSFDS Hall, in partnership with the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA).

Praveen mentioned that preparations for the campaign were discussed in a high-level meeting led by the Chief Secretary, where Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners, and officials from various departments finalized activities for each district.

The week-long celebration will feature exhibitions focused on the National Flag and Vande Mataram at schools, colleges, and key public venues. These exhibitions, organized by the Departments of School Education, Higher and Technical Education, and the Art & Culture Department, aim to educate both students and the public about the importance of the Tricolour and the national anthem.

Additional activities planned include bike and cycle rallies across districts and Gram Panchayats, Tiranga-themed art competitions in educational institutions, and large tricolour rangoli displays at notable locations.

All government offices and significant public buildings will be illuminated in the colors of the National Flag. Approximately two lakh National Flags are prepared for distribution, with government departments instructed to submit their needs to the General Administration Department.

To enhance public engagement, Tiranga selfie points will be established throughout Imphal and other districts, encouraging citizens to share their photos on the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.

The Directorate of Information and Public Relations will oversee the campaign's publicity and document the events through photographs and videos.

In observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14, state and district administrations will host commemorative programs and public awareness initiatives. Educational institutions are also invited to participate in the National Online Quiz available on the MyGov portal, which will run from August 1 to September 15.

The Art & Culture Department has called upon government departments, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and the public to actively engage in the campaign, spreading the message of patriotism and national unity throughout Manipur.
