Mamata Banerjee's Reaction to Amit Shah's Comments
West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her strong discontent on Sunday regarding remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah had previously accused her of playing the victim card while releasing a 'political charge sheet' against the Trinamool Congress government.
Mamata's Defiant Stand
During an election rally in Manbazar, Purulia district, Banerjee issued a direct challenge to Shah. She stated, 'Those who claim I walk around with bandages during elections should check my detailed medical reports. I have returned from the brink of death multiple times.' She questioned the BJP, asking if they had intentionally harmed her during the 2021 elections and if there were plans to harm her now.
Demand for Charges Against Amit Shah
In response to the charge sheet issued by Shah against the TMC government, the Chief Minister asserted that a charge sheet should be filed against Shah for his past actions. She accused BJP leaders of attempting to tarnish the state's image while her government has consistently worked towards Bengal's development.
Threat to Welfare Schemes
Banerjee warned the women of the state that if the BJP comes to power, they would likely discontinue popular schemes like 'Lakshmi Bhandar.' She further claimed that the BJP would impose restrictions on people's dietary choices and personal freedoms.
