Mamata Banerjee Criticizes BJP's Interference in West Bengal Politics
Mamata Banerjee's Strong Allegations Against BJP
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, has launched a fierce critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the central government of meddling in the state's political affairs. She warned that if such pressure continues, the government in Delhi could also face a downfall. Banerjee claimed that there are attempts to turn the Raj Bhavan into a BJP party office and that there are plans to distribute money during elections. She alleged that the individuals being sent to the state are BJP cadres.
Comments on Political Dynamics
Referring to Jagdeep Dhankhar and Ajit Pawar from Maharashtra, CM Banerjee stated that she had previously spoken the truth about their situations. She accused the central government of engaging in arrogant politics and asserted that the current administration relies on coalition partners. Banerjee emphasized that the BJP cannot divide Bengal by cutting votes, asserting that the state knows how to fight and its citizens will continue to struggle for their rights.
Political Tensions Surrounding Governor's Resignation
Amidst the political turmoil, discussions have intensified regarding the resignation of Governor C.V. Ananda Bose ahead of the assembly elections. Chief Minister Banerjee claimed that this decision was made under the pressure of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She stated that such decisions before elections can only be made by Shah himself. Banerjee expressed uncertainty about the reasons behind Bose's resignation but indicated that it was clearly a politically motivated move.
Future of West Bengal's Governorship
Banerjee revealed that Shah informed her that after Bose's departure, the Governor of Tamil Nadu and former Deputy National Security Advisor R.N. Ravi would be given additional charge of West Bengal's governorship.
Bose Confirms Resignation
C.V. Ananda Bose confirmed his resignation from Delhi, stating that he has served as the Governor of Bengal for about three and a half years, which he deemed sufficient. However, he did not disclose the reasons for his sudden resignation. His term was supposed to last until November 2027, leading to various speculations in political circles regarding his early exit.
Concerns Over Democratic Integrity
Mamata Banerjee expressed that such decisions pose a threat to the democratic framework of the country. According to her, unilateral decisions do not serve the interests of any state but rather benefit a specific political party. She asserted that the people of Bengal are observing everything and will respond in due time.
