As tensions rise, Banerjee remains defiant, asserting that the TMC will emerge stronger despite these challenges.

Mamata Banerjee's Strong Allegations Against BJP

On Monday, Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), launched a fierce attack on the BJP and law enforcement agencies, claiming that police are coercing TMC legislators and MPs to abandon the party and join the BJP. She asserted that there is a campaign of threats and inducements aimed at undermining her party. Banerjee dismissed rumors of defections and internal discord within the TMC, stating that despite ongoing political pressure from the central government, the party will emerge even stronger.

Banerjee emphasized that the TMC cannot be weakened by intimidating or bribing some of its legislators and MPs. In fact, such tactics are only making the party stronger. Her comments came amid a new political controversy involving TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, who alleged that BJP party workers physically assaulted him. In a post on X, Kalyan claimed he was struck on the head with a hard object, resulting in injuries and severe chest pain. He noted that the nature of the attack suggested a clear intent to cause serious harm, if not to take his life.

This incident has become a rallying point for TMC leadership, with Banerjee accusing authorities of failing to ensure medical treatment and safety for opposition leaders. She alleged that despite doctors being called, hospitals were pressured not to provide care, labeling the incident as shocking and indicative of political vendetta.

In a video statement released on Monday, Banerjee criticized the response to the attacks, including clashes with crowds over the weekend. She expressed disbelief at the manner in which an MP from the second-largest opposition party was assaulted. She questioned the absurdity and authoritarian nature of the behavior, stating that despite doctors being summoned, hospitals reportedly received orders not to treat the injured. She remarked on the close ties and dealings with the Bidla and Lodha families, asserting that her mayor had managed everything effectively. Six months ago, they had renewed Apollo's license.

Banerjee reiterated that the TMC will emerge even stronger following these events. She stated that those claiming party leaders are not supporting their workers are spreading false information. She described the current situation as chaotic, asserting that even Hitler did not resort to such tactics. She expressed that words fail to capture the extent of oppression, indicating that when language fails, it signifies that repression has crossed all limits. The TMC cannot be weakened through intimidation or bribery; rather, it is becoming even more resilient.
