Kharge Takes Oath in Rajya Sabha


In a significant event on Monday, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge officially took his oath as a Rajya Sabha member following his recent re-election. The ceremony took place in the chamber of the Rajya Sabha chairman, C P Radhakrishnan, who administered the oath.


Notable figures present included Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who witnessed the oath-taking ceremony.


Kharge, representing Karnataka in the upper house, recited his oath in Hindi. Following the ceremony, Radhakrishnan extended his congratulations, expressing confidence that Kharge's extensive experience would greatly benefit the house.


The event was also attended by Health Minister J P Nadda, who serves as the leader of the house, along with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh.
