Significant Terror Network Disrupted

Srinagar: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have dismantled a significant interstate terror module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, apprehending five individuals, including Abdullah, also known as Abu Hureira, who had evaded capture for 16 years. Officials reported this development on Tuesday.

In addition to Abdullah, another suspect, Usman alias Khubaib, a Pakistani national, was taken into custody during this extensive operation that involved both local police and central agencies.

Law enforcement officials conducted searches at 19 different sites across Jammu and Kashmir, as well as in Rajasthan and Haryana, uncovering crucial evidence. The investigation revealed a well-established LeT network that was facilitating logistical and financial assistance to terrorists.

Among those arrested, three were residents of Srinagar: Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir, also known as Mama. They are accused of providing essential support, including shelter and food, to the terrorists.

The investigation further suggests that a foreign terrorist managed to exit the country using forged documents, aided by the Lashkar-e-Taiba's network operating in various states.

These terrorists infiltrated India approximately 16 years ago and have remained active in several districts within the Kashmir Valley, overseeing and commanding around 40 foreign terrorists, most of whom have been neutralized by security forces.
