Chandigarh: Major Bhupinder Singh Dhillon Badal, a notable figure and relative of the late Parkash Singh Badal, has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His induction took place under the guidance of State party President Kewal Singh Dhillon, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini present.

The late Gurraj Singh Dhillon Badal, Major Bhupinder's father, was a Rajya Sabha MP from 1952 to 1958, representing the Shiromani Akali Dal and significantly contributing to Parkash Singh Badal's early political career.

Having served in the Indian Army and participated in the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Major Bhupinder continued his military career until 1988.

Since 1994, he has been actively involved in election campaigns and has maintained a strong connection with the residents of the Lambi Assembly constituency.

His entry into the BJP is viewed as a crucial enhancement to the party's political and organizational strength in Punjab, especially in the Malwa region.

In a related development, Pradeep Joshan, the Sanour Municipal Committee President and State Secretary of the SC Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has also joined the BJP along with his supporters, marking a significant boost for the party in the Sanour Assembly constituency.

This move is particularly noteworthy as several influential political figures and social activists from Sanour have joined the BJP alongside Joshan.

Notable leaders joining the BJP include Swaran Singh, President of the SC Wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal's Malwa Zone, and others such as Rajat Batish, Narotam Bhatnagar, and several social activists from the Sanour Samaj Kalyan Club.

Welcoming the new members, Dhillon emphasized that their joining reflects the increasing trust in the BJP's policies and leadership.

He reiterated the party's commitment to the development of Punjab and the welfare of all societal segments.

The addition of Pradeep Joshan and his supporters is anticipated to further solidify the BJP's grassroots presence in the Sanour Assembly constituency.
