Joint Operation Against Arms Trafficking

Patna: A significant operation is currently being executed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in collaboration with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Bihar Police across several locations in Nalanda, aimed at dismantling a suspected arms trafficking network.

The raids commenced early Monday morning at approximately 4:30 a.m., targeting nearly ten sites, including a gun shop and a jewelry store situated in the Laheri area under the jurisdiction of Laheri Police Station.

The scale and intensity of the operation have generated considerable interest among local residents.

Sources indicate that the primary objective is to disrupt an organized arms trafficking syndicate.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted at various locations throughout the district, including the 'PK Gun House'.

Investigators are thoroughly checking weapon serial numbers and scrutinizing stock inventories to uncover any discrepancies.

The operation encompasses multiple regions, including Mirzapur village under Chiksaura Police Station and Rammurti Nagar under Hilsa Police Station.

Reports suggest that around 100 personnel are actively participating in this operation.

For security reasons, local police stations were not informed in advance about the raids.

It is noteworthy that the NIA had previously conducted similar operations in Nalanda district on December 4.

During that earlier operation, searches were executed in the Baradari locality and areas under the Bhagwanbigha Police Station.

Individuals such as Md. Parvez and Rajendra Yadav were interrogated in relation to the case.

Before the current operation, the NIA had also carried out a significant crackdown in June 2025 in Nalanda district.

In that operation, officials seized 717 cartridges from the rented home of Abhijit Kumar in Asha Nagar, located under the Sohsarai Police Station area.

Additionally, 117 cartridges were confiscated from Robin Yadav's residence under the Bhagwanbigha Police Station jurisdiction.

During that time, the NIA arrested Abhijit Kumar’s father, underscoring the seriousness of the illegal arms network operating in the area.
