Significant Drug Seizure in Bhadrachalam


In a significant operation against drug trafficking, police in Bhadrachalam, Telangana, have confiscated 372 kilograms of cannabis. The estimated value of the seized drugs is around ₹1.82 crore. Authorities have arrested four individuals in connection with this case and have also impounded the vehicles used for smuggling.


Discovery Triggered by Motorcycle Inspection

The investigation began when police stopped a motorcycle for inspection, uncovering approximately 9 kilograms of cannabis. This led to further inquiries and a deeper investigation, revealing a larger shipment of drugs.


Large Quantities Found in Various Vehicles

During the operation, police discovered about 100 kilograms of cannabis in one car and an additional 263 kilograms in another vehicle, bringing the total haul to 372 kilograms.


Arrests Linked to Odisha

The four arrested suspects are reportedly from Odisha. Authorities are currently investigating the origins of the cannabis shipment and its intended destination within Telangana.


Valuable Drug Seizure

The police have valued the confiscated cannabis at approximately ₹1.82 crore. Following this substantial seizure, they are now examining the entire trafficking network.
