Major Crackdown on Illegal Explosives in Rajasthan: Bulldozer Action Against 'Bomb King'
Significant Action Against Illegal Explosives
Nagaur, Rajasthan: Authorities have taken decisive measures in a significant case involving illegal explosives. A bulldozer was deployed at the residence of the alleged 'Bomb King', Suleiman Khan, resulting in the destruction of his expansive farmhouse.
This operation took place in Harsaur village, located in the Degana tehsil of Nagaur district. In January 2026, police seized a staggering 10 tons of ammonium nitrate (totaling 9,550 kilograms) just before Republic Day, causing widespread alarm and drawing the attention of national security agencies such as the NIA and IB.
Suleiman Khan, approximately 58 years old, had constructed an illegal farmhouse on 45 bighas of land at the village's border. Investigations revealed that around 25 bighas of government pasture land had been unlawfully occupied. This location had become a central hub for the storage and illegal supply of explosive materials.
Police conducted raids on January 24-25, 2026, leading to the arrest of Suleiman Khan and four other suspects. The investigation is ongoing through a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and due to the seriousness of the case, it has been handed over to the NIA. Suleiman previously operated a legitimate explosives magazine but turned to illegal activities after his license expired.
On Friday, March 6, 2026, local authorities and police collaborated to completely demolish the farmhouse, walls, and encroachments using a bulldozer. This operation is viewed as a significant success against illegal occupation and explosives trafficking.
Officials have stated that such actions will continue to ensure that no network of illegal explosives can thrive in Rajasthan.
