Major Arrest in Kutch: Man Linked to ISIS Ideology Detained for Anti-National Activities
Significant Arrest in Kutch District
Kutch: In a decisive move against suspected anti-national activities, authorities have apprehended an individual believed to be influenced by the Islamic State (ISIS) ideology in Kutch district, as reported by officials on Saturday.
Initial investigations suggest that the suspect had been using various fake identities across social media to disseminate provocative content aimed at inciting individuals towards 'jihad'.
The individual has been identified as Fakirammad Gagda, residing in Lodai village within Bhuj taluka. He is accused of promoting ISIS propaganda and engaging in other anti-national online activities. Following specific intelligence, law enforcement executed an operation to capture him.
Officials noted, 'He created multiple accounts on platforms like Instagram and Facebook to share inflammatory posts. His actions were allegedly inciting people towards the ideas of 'Caliphate' and 'Jihad', which threaten the nation's sovereignty and unity.'
The operation was conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) team from West Kutch-Bhuj, who acted on credible intelligence regarding the suspect's online behavior.
During the investigation, the suspect's mobile device was analyzed, revealing material that included inflammatory posts and content supporting extremist views.
Authorities stated that the action was prompted by the discovery of incriminating evidence during the mobile inspection, which is crucial for the case against the suspect.
A case has been filed at Paddhar Police Station, and further inquiries are ongoing to assess the full scope of the suspect's activities and any potential connections.
More information is expected to emerge soon.
This arrest follows the recent detainment of two individuals linked to the 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' module, which involved plans for RDX bomb-making and targeting RSS affiliates in Gujarat.
On April 21, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) revealed the arrest of two suspects in an alleged online radicalization and conspiracy case, which included discussions about 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' and potential attacks on various groups, including those associated with the RSS.
The ATS has been actively monitoring anti-national activities on social media and the internet, employing both human intelligence and technical surveillance.
Based on confidential information, ATS officers began investigating Irfankhan Pathan, a 22-year-old from Siddhpur in Patan district, who was reportedly in contact with individuals espousing extremist beliefs.
Officials indicated that Pathan was influenced by radical ideology and, along with his associates, had plotted to establish 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' in India through armed rebellion against the government.
The alleged plan involved instilling fear, mobilizing individuals, and forming an organized group.
Additionally, it was reported that Pathan was in the process of acquiring weapons and preparing to manufacture explosives, while also attempting to inspire Muslims in India and abroad to participate in what officials termed 'jihad'.
He was also allegedly working on assembling a team for this initiative.
