Special Flights Arranged for Tourists in Dubai

Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, announced that two special flights have been arranged to safely bring back 164 tourists and residents stranded in Dubai. These individuals are expected to return to Mumbai by evening. Shinde made this announcement during a speech on the occasion of Dhulivandan, extending festive greetings to the people of the state.

While wishing the people of Maharashtra a joyous Dhulivandan and Rang Panchami, Shinde expressed his prayers at the feet of Goddess Jagdamba for health, happiness, and a shower of colors in everyone's lives. He hoped that farmers, laborers, workers, beloved brothers and sisters, and senior citizens would all be filled with joy. Additionally, he paid tribute to Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray and Dharmaveer Anand Dighe during the event.

Cultural Significance of Festivals

During his visit to Anand Dighe's Anand Ashram, Shinde referred to Thane as the 'holy land of festivals.' He acknowledged Anand Dighe's significant role in establishing and promoting the traditions of festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Govinda, Holi, and Dhulivandan across Thane and Maharashtra. Although these festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm every year, this year's Holi-Dhulivandan is overshadowed by the unfortunate passing of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar.

Moreover, due to tragic incidents affecting the families of some close Shiv Sena workers, a decision has been made to avoid grand celebrations and focus on preserving traditions with simplicity. Shinde clarified that this decision aims to celebrate the festival modestly while upholding cultural values.

Promoting Eco-Friendly Celebrations

Shinde urged citizens to use natural colors while celebrating Dhulivandan and Rang Panchami. He noted that the government's appeal to avoid chemical colors has received a positive response from the public, leading to a significant reduction in their usage. Regarding the citizens stranded in Dubai, Shinde mentioned that he had contacted officials for assistance over the past two days and personally reassured them through phone calls.
