Maharashtra Transfers 51 IPS and 81 State Police Officers

Major Police Reshuffle in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra Home Department has executed a significant transfer of 51 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers along with 81 officers from the State Police Service, affecting personnel in major cities like Mumbai and Pune.


According to an official statement released on Friday, Tejaswi Satpute, who served as the Superintendent of the Arms Inspection Branch in Pune, has been reassigned as the commander of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group 1 in Pune.


Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mahendra Pandit has been moved from Thane city to Mumbai. Additionally, DCP Smarathna Patil has been transferred from Pune to the Police Training Center in Khandala, while DCP (Traffic) Amol Jende has also been reassigned as the commander of the SRPF in Daund.


Tushar Patil, the Superintendent of Police in Kolhapur, has been appointed as DCP in Mumbai. Furthermore, Vijay Pawar, Sunil Lokhande, Namrata Patil, and Smita Patil have also been designated as Deputy Commissioners of Police in Mumbai. The official noted that five IPS officers have been promoted and transferred to serve as Deputy Commissioners in Mumbai.
