Maharashtra Reports Two COVID-19 Related Deaths This Year

Maharashtra has reported two COVID-19 related deaths this year, both occurring in Mumbai. The state's health department revealed that the deceased had serious pre-existing health conditions. A total of 106 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since January, with ongoing treatment for several patients. The rise in cases is noted not only in Maharashtra but also in other regions and countries, raising concerns about the pandemic's trajectory.
 

COVID-19 Deaths in Maharashtra

Since January of this year, Maharashtra has recorded two fatalities linked to COVID-19, as reported by the state's health department on Tuesday.


According to a statement from the department, both of these deaths occurred in Mumbai.


The individuals who succumbed to the virus were already suffering from severe pre-existing health conditions. One of the deceased had a kidney-related illness accompanied by hypocalcemia seizures, while the other was battling cancer.


The health department's release indicated that a total of 6,066 samples have been tested since January, with 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Out of these, 101 cases were reported in Mumbai, while the remaining cases were from Pune, Thane, and Kolhapur.


Currently, 52 patients are experiencing mild symptoms of COVID-19 and are receiving treatment, while 16 individuals are hospitalized. The statement emphasized that the rise in COVID-19 cases is not only observed in Maharashtra but also in other states and even internationally.
