Jail Sentence for Spreading Fake News

On Wednesday (March 25), the Maharashtra Legislative Council ordered the implementation of a resolution recommending a five-day jail sentence for a young man from Akola accused of publishing false news about NCP MLA Amol Mitkari on a YouTube channel. The individual, Ankush Gawande, was summoned to apologize for the misinformation during the session. Alongside Gawande, journalists Ganesh Sonawane, Harshada Sonawane, and Amol Nandurkar also published false news against Mitkari on the 'Satya Ladha' YouTube channel.
