Maharashtra Minister Escapes Helicopter Incident in Pune
Helicopter Mishap in Pune
On Saturday, Chhagan Bhujbal, the Maharashtra Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, narrowly avoided a serious incident when his helicopter mistakenly landed in a vehicle parking area instead of the designated helipad in Pune. The minister was attending an event in Khanwadi village, located in the Parner taluka of Pune district, when this mishap occurred. Fortunately, both Bhujbal and the helicopter pilot emerged unscathed. Upon arrival, the pilot noticed an empty spot in the parking lot and, misinterpreting it as the landing zone, attempted to land the helicopter there. A video captured the helicopter descending onto this vacant area near the helipad. It is reported that dust kicked up by the rotors caused the pilot to miss the actual helipad. Following the incident, police informed the pilot of the error, after which the helicopter was relocated to the correct landing site.
Drone Incident Involving Mamata Banerjee's Helicopter
In a separate incident last week, three individuals were arrested after drones were spotted near West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's helicopter. These individuals allegedly operated the drone to capture footage of an election rally while Banerjee was preparing to board her helicopter for her next stop in Gajol. Officials confirmed that the arrests were made due to the drone's proximity to the chief minister's helicopter during takeoff, and investigations are ongoing, given the security concerns surrounding the situation.
