BJP's Triumph in Maharashtra Municipal Elections

On Friday, Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the BJP's success in the municipal elections, stating that the party has once again made history under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He attributed the victory not only to Modi but also to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, National Executive President Nitin Nabin, and all party workers.

Fadnavis expressed on X that the BJP has once again made history in the 2025-26 municipal elections! He credited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the guidance of BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, National Executive President Nitin Nabin, and the relentless efforts of BJP State President Ravindra Chavan and all party workers for this historic win in the state.


According to Fadnavis, this victory reflects the public's trust in the BJP's vision for progress and development. Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude to voters for supporting the BJP-led coalition, stating that the public has recognized the work done by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Following the start of vote counting on Friday morning, the BJP and Shiv Sena's Mahayuti alliance gained an edge in 24 out of 29 municipal corporations, including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur. Trends from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) indicate that the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance is leading in 116 out of 227 wards. The Shiv Sena, led by Uddhav Thackeray, and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, led by Raj Thackeray, who contested as a coalition, are lagging in most districts. According to the trends, the Mahayuti alliance has crossed the required majority of 114 to gain power in the BMC.
