Maharashtra CM Expresses Discontent Over Ajit Pawar's Criticism of BJP
Tensions Rise in Maharashtra Politics
Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has voiced his displeasure regarding remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), during the Pune municipal election campaign. Fadnavis's comments came in response to Pawar's criticisms of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), despite his party being part of the ruling coalition.
Ahead of the Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal elections, Pawar has repeatedly targeted the BJP concerning local governance issues. Notably, he has formed an alliance with his uncle, Sharad Pawar, leading the NCP, for two municipal bodies in Pune district.
In an interview with a Marathi television channel, Fadnavis stated, "I possess a great deal of patience, and it will not break. We had agreed as allies not to speak against each other. However, Ajitdada has not exercised restraint. Making critical comments in Pune does not suit him. I have neither spoken against my allies nor others. I will respond when I come to Mumbai."
