Mumbai, August 4 - On Tuesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took aim at the Congress party, accusing them of engaging in low-level politics merely to attract media attention. This statement came after Congress referred to Deputy Chief Minister Supriya Sule as a 'mute doll'. Fadnavis expressed during a press interaction that Maharashtra's political culture does not endorse such trivial comments aimed at gaining publicity.

He remarked that some individuals are only focused on staying in the news, believing that even negative publicity is sufficient for recognition. This, he asserted, does not align with the political ethos of Maharashtra.

Fadnavis was responding to inquiries regarding Congress's remarks, which labeled the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and the state's first female Deputy Chief Minister, Supriya Sule, as a 'mute doll'. The NCP is an ally of the BJP and part of the ruling coalition. Congress had posted, 'Supriya Sule, how long will you remain a mute doll?'

Along with this statement, they shared a video from a press conference featuring Sule and her party colleague Dhananjay Munde. In the video, Munde interrupted a journalist's question, while Sule did not respond and left after Munde declared the end of the discussion.

In response to another query, Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has requested a police investigation into allegations related to its examination process. Addressing claims of irregularities, Fadnavis dismissed the notion of a scam, asserting, 'This is not a scam.'

The MPSC had already provided clarification on the matter. Although the allegations surfaced three months later, the commission proactively filed a police complaint and sought an investigation. Fadnavis assured that action has already commenced and that strict measures would be taken against anyone found guilty of misconduct.

He emphasized that anyone who has committed wrongdoing will certainly face consequences, urging those with evidence to come forward. A thorough investigation will be conducted.
