On Saturday morning, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded west of Bandar Abbas, Iran, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). This seismic event occurs during a period of heightened tensions in West Asia, with the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran now in its seventh day. The earthquake's epicenter was located 74 kilometers from Bandar Abbas, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

A tremor of this magnitude is generally categorized as light to moderate. While residents near the epicenter may have experienced slight shaking, such earthquakes usually do not result in significant structural damage. Currently, there are no reports of injuries or major damage, and no tsunami warning has been issued, with the risk deemed minimal.


Earlier this week, a separate earthquake measuring 4.3 struck the Gerash region in southern Iran, occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers and recorded at 6:54 GMT (approximately 10:24 AM local time). This quake's epicenter was situated about 55 kilometers north-northwest of Gerash, predominantly in a rural area.
