He expressed disappointment over her public declaration and questioned the Congress party's support for such actions. Yadav called for accountability from Congress leaders, urging them to take a stand against councillors who refuse to chant patriotic slogans. The incident has sparked a debate about the party's values and commitment to national unity. As the controversy unfolds, Yadav demands resignations from those who fail to act, highlighting a growing divide within the political landscape.

Controversy Over National Anthem Refusal

On Saturday, Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, expressed his disappointment regarding a Congress councillor from Indore who refused to sing 'Vande Mataram'. He stated that it was equally unfortunate that she openly declared, "I will not sing it." This incident has revealed the true nature of the Congress party, according to Yadav.

The Chief Minister directed his criticism towards Congress state president Jitu Patwari, whose district was involved in these events, as well as Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. He questioned why they support anti-national elements like councillor Rubina Khan.

Calls for Accountability Within Congress

Yadav urged Patwari to clarify what actions are being taken against councillors who refuse to chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and sing 'Vande Mataram'. He emphasized that Patwari and other Congress leaders should resign from their positions, asserting that the Congress party has undermined the spirit of 'Vande Mataram'. He criticized the party for its apparent double standards, contrasting it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to unite the nation under the banner of 'Vande Mataram'.

Incident at Indore Municipal Corporation

During a budget meeting at the Indore Municipal Corporation, Congress member Fauzia Sheikh Aleem refused to sing 'Vande Mataram'. Additionally, independent councillor Rubina Iqbal Khan also declined to sing the national song, citing religious reasons. Yadav stated that the entire state Congress should resign over this issue, criticizing the female councillors of Indore for their shameless behavior.

Demand for Response from Congress Leaders

Expressing his deep sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister remarked that he feels ashamed about the situation. He questioned why state Congress president Patwari, who speaks on various issues, has remained silent on this matter. Yadav demanded to know Patwari's stance on the councillor's comments, suggesting that if no action is taken, all involved should resign.
