Review of Contaminated Water Incident

On Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh conducted a review regarding the contaminated drinking water incident in Indore, issuing necessary directives for the state government's response. He instructed the Indore Municipal Corporation's Commissioner and Additional Commissioner to provide explanations for the situation.

Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate transfer of the Additional Commissioner from Indore and directed the removal of the in-charge Superintending Engineer from their responsibilities related to water distribution.

Government Actions and Future Plans

In a social media post, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned that he reviewed the steps being taken by the state government concerning the contaminated water issue in Indore with the Chief Secretary and other officials. They discussed a report presented by the Additional Chief Secretary for Urban Administration and Development.

He emphasized that notices were issued to the Municipal Corporation officials, and immediate actions were taken to fill vacant positions within the Indore Municipal Corporation.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that following the unfortunate incident in Indore, corrective measures are being implemented across other regions of the state, with directives given to relevant officials to prepare a timely action plan.

Virtual Meeting with Municipal Leaders

Furthermore, he announced a virtual meeting scheduled for later that evening, which will include mayors, chairpersons, and commissioners from all 16 municipal corporations, along with district collectors and officials from the health, urban development, and public health engineering departments. This meeting aims to assess the situation statewide and issue necessary instructions.
