Lucknow Super Giants Make a Key Signing

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have officially brought on board South African all-rounder George Linde to fill the gap left by Wanindu Hasaranga, who has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Details Surrounding Hasaranga's Withdrawal

Hasaranga, who was acquired by LSG for ₹2 crore during the auction, is unable to participate due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Sri Lanka's first match in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

Reports indicate that the seasoned all-rounder did not complete the required fitness assessments under the supervision of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), which is necessary to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for IPL participation.

Previously, Hasaranga played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) last season and was with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) from 2021 to 2023.
