Lucknow Super Giants Gear Up for IPL 2026 with Enhanced Pace Attack
Strengthening the Pace Attack
Tom Moody, the Global Director of Cricket for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), recently discussed the team's strategies as they prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. His focus is on bolstering the domestic pace-bowling lineup. During an interview on JioStar, Moody highlighted the proactive measures taken by the support staff to rectify the squad's weaknesses ahead of the 2026 season.
Focus on Fitness and Medical Support
Moody acknowledged that the preparations leading into 2025 fell short of expectations, particularly regarding player fitness. He stated, "The improvements we've made are significant, especially in our fast-bowling unit. We've strategically enhanced our squad during the off-season by acquiring Mohammed Shami, who will lead our pace attack."
Managing Pressure for Success
When questioned about the pressure to secure a trophy for LSG, Moody shared his perspective on handling expectations. He remarked, "Having been involved in professional cricket for many years, I understand the dual nature of pressure—it can be both a charm and a challenge. The confidence we have stems from our belief in the squad's readiness to face what lies ahead."
