Festive Celebrations of Lohri

On Tuesday, the Lohri festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Punjab and Haryana. A significant aspect of the festivities included lighting bonfires made of wood and cow dung, while families danced to the popular folk song 'Sundar Mundariye Ho'.


Official Celebrations

This evening, Punjab's Governor and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, hosted an event at Lok Bhawan. The gathering was attended by dignitaries, including the Governor of Haryana and the Chief Ministers of both states.


Cultural Festivities

Throughout the day, a festive atmosphere prevailed in the region, with men and women engaging in Bhangra and Gidda dances while singing folk songs. The celebrations were marked by lively dancing to the beat of drums, as people enjoyed the festival.
