Local Congress Leader Fatally Stabbed in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh
Tragic Incident in Rewa District
Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), July 29 - A 36-year-old local Congress official was reportedly murdered in a stabbing incident in Rewa district. A police officer provided this information on Wednesday. The attack occurred late Tuesday night near a petrol pump in the Shanti Vihar colony, located within the Civil Lines police station area.
According to the officer, Amit Kol, the district president of the Congress Scheduled Tribe Front, was conversing with friends when a group of individuals arrived in two to three vehicles and launched a sudden assault on him. The attackers surrounded Kol and inflicted multiple stab wounds, leaving him critically injured. Following the attack, they fled the scene.
The officer further stated that Kol was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Guru Karan Singh, the Superintendent of Police in Rewa, mentioned that efforts are underway to identify the assailants by reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity. Additionally, two motorcycles were recovered from the crime scene, and an investigation into the motives behind the murder is ongoing.
