MIAMI: In a deeply emotional moment, Argentine football icon Lionel Messi made his return to the pitch just four days following the tragic death of his father, Jorge Messi.

He participated in a vital Leagues Cup match for Inter Miami against the Mexican team León on August 12. This unexpected comeback occurred shortly after Messi shared his uncertainties about his football career on social media.

Jorge Messi, who was also Lionel's agent, passed away at the age of 68 on August 8 after battling a prolonged illness. Following the funeral held at a private cemetery in Rosario, Messi returned to Miami and started the match on the bench.
