Chief Minister Sarma stated, "This team of special public prosecutors will advance the legal proceedings. Ziaul Kamar will serve as the special public prosecutor, with Brojendra Mohan Choudhury as the additional prosecutor, and Kishore Dutta, Pranjal Dutta, and Vikash Jammar as assistants."
The next court hearing is scheduled for January 17, and Sarma emphasized, "This five-member team will facilitate the legal process moving forward."
To date, three hearings have been conducted in this case.
During the most recent hearing, three defendants—Amritprava Mahanta, Sandipan Garg, and Paresh Baishya—filed bail petitions through their legal representatives.
Other defendants are expected to submit their bail requests shortly.
Additionally, the Cabinet has sanctioned a one-time grant of ₹5 crore to the Zubeen Garg Foundation, which was recently established by the singer's wife, Garima, and sister, Palme Borthakur.
"The Cabinet has endorsed the family's initiative. Should there be future proposals for commemorating Garg's legacy and contributions, the government will remain supportive of the trust," he added.
