Mind Tree School has been operating on the IIT Mandi campus since 2017, established after IIT Mandi issued a public notice inviting reputable educational institutions to create a CBSE-affiliated school. The school management reports that everything was functioning well until 2022, when a new School Managing Committee (SMC) was formed. With no resolution in sight, the school has taken the matter to the Himachal Pradesh High Court, where it is being heard as Mind Tree School vs Union of India. The management argues that any unilateral actions by IIT Mandi during the ongoing case would be legally questionable.

IIT Mandi's Plans

Despite the ongoing legal situation, IIT Mandi has reportedly expressed intentions to take control of the school and start new classes in May. The school management has contested these claims, stating they are inappropriate while the case is still pending.
