Launch of Electric and Hydrogen Buses in Noida and Greater Noida

Uttar Pradesh has launched a fleet of electric and hydrogen buses in Noida and Greater Noida, marking a significant step towards modern and eco-friendly public transport. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state's advancements in infrastructure and connectivity, emphasizing the importance of these buses in promoting sustainable transport. The initiative aims to provide affordable and accessible travel options for citizens, students, and workers, enhancing connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport. This development is expected to benefit millions and contribute to a greener future for the region.
 

Inauguration of Eco-Friendly Buses

Today, the Medical Device Park located in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Authority witnessed the launch of electric and hydrogen buses for Noida, Greater Noida, and the surrounding areas. The honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, participated in the event virtually from Lucknow, marking the commencement of operations for approximately 110 electric buses in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Additionally, 11 electric buses and 3 hydrogen buses began their services in the Yamuna Authority region.




During his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, "Since 2017, Uttar Pradesh has made remarkable advancements in infrastructure and connectivity. The state is now recognized for its expressways, modern transportation, and world-class projects. The upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar will not only serve passenger needs but will also become a significant cargo hub, while electric and hydrogen-based transport will symbolize a clean and developed Uttar Pradesh." Thousands of attendees experienced the new service by traveling from Sector 28 of YIDA to the Noida International Airport on these buses, which are priced affordably to ensure accessibility for students, farmers, laborers, and professionals for their daily commutes.




On this occasion, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, along with Rakesh Kumar Singh, the CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, and other officials, also traveled by electric bus to the Noida International Airport. MLA Dhirendra Singh remarked, "Under the leadership of the state government, Gautam Buddh Nagar is rapidly advancing towards a green, modern, and future-oriented public transport system. The operation of electric and hydrogen buses is a significant achievement in providing safe, accessible, and affordable transportation while also promoting environmental conservation."




Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this historic initiative, MLA Dhirendra Singh expressed confidence that "this facility will accelerate the development of the region and enhance connectivity to the Noida International Airport." He further stated, "With the introduction of electric and hydrogen buses, reaching the Noida International Airport will be simpler, more accessible, and cost-effective than ever before. This service is a great boon for millions of citizens, students, employees, and travelers. A modern and eco-friendly public transport system will not only ease traffic but also strengthen the commitment to a developed Jewar and Uttar Pradesh."




Present at the event were Rajesh Kumar Singh, Additional CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Special Officer Shailendra Bhatia, Shailendra Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jewar Durgesh Kumar Singh, General Manager Yamuna Rajendra Bhati, along with thousands of farmers and educated individuals from the region.
