Kylian Mbappe Prioritizes Team Success Over Personal Achievements

Kylian Mbappe has made it clear that his primary focus is on winning another World Cup for France, rather than engaging in comparisons with football greats like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He believes that discussions about legacy are for journalists, while his attention is on the present and helping his team succeed. Mbappe also downplayed the significance of individual scoring records, stating that team success is what truly matters. His remarks highlight a commitment to collective achievement over personal accolades, showcasing his dedication to the sport and his teammates.

Mbappe's Focus on Winning Another World Cup

Kylian Mbappe has brushed aside comparisons with football legends, asserting that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the top players in the sport. He emphasized that his primary goal is to secure another World Cup title for his team. Mbappe highlighted the importance of living in the moment and enjoying the tournament, rather than getting caught up in discussions about legacy or comparisons.

He stated, "Messi and Cristiano are undoubtedly the best. My aim is to assist my team in winning another World Cup. The rest is merely a topic for journalists. Currently, my thoughts are on Iraq, not on Haaland or anyone else." He further added, "Messi has proven his worth, and while it's a topic for discussion, it's not something I dwell on. My focus is on bringing the trophy home. I won't be around when I'm 40; I don't plan for the future, just the present and enjoying the World Cup."

Team Success Takes Precedence Over Individual Records

Mbappe also minimized the significance of breaking the World Cup scoring record, reiterating that his priority is to help his team succeed and qualify. He acknowledged that scoring goals would naturally bring him closer to that milestone, but emphasized that team achievements are paramount.

He praised Messi's goal-scoring consistency, expressing confidence in his ability to find the net. "It's always a joy to play alongside him, but the match's outcome is what matters most as we aim to qualify. I knew Leo would score because he always does. While I'm behind him in the scoring race, my main focus is on winning the World Cup," he concluded.
